A custom residence on Whidbey Island.

A main house, guest cabin and spa. surrounded by a mature forest of fir, cedar and hemlock, sitting at the edge of a meadow overlooking Admiralty Inlet and the Olympic Mountains.

The house is accessed through a portal, a tower-like structure that serves as a metaphor for passage from a busy urban life to the tranquility of island living. Crossing this threshold, one discovers a place of quiet views, immense privacy and soft, natural light. With its visual openness to the sea and surrounding forests, the house is experienced as a pavilion of light supported by cozy intimate spaces.
